Original Jewellery for Special Occasions
Handmade in Porthleven

I love rich colours and textures and I’m always trying to bounce the light around. My style varies considerably so you may find a statement choker capable of impressing with a tailored business suit, or some dangly earrings which make you feel brilliant on an off-day. There may be a romantic necklace to wear for lunch in the garden with a summer dress, or a sophisticated pendant and matching earrings to ravish you into the night at a black-tie event. Special Occasion Jewellery is always welcomed as Birthday, Christmas and Anniversary presents. Earrings make a perfect thank-you gift.
Everything is finished on Sterling Silver or Gold-fill (Rolled Gold)
Maybe because I worked in theatre and television before I came to Cornwall, the vibrant jewellery I make is influenced by all periods of history, made with contemporary flair. Perhaps that's why I understand the transformational qualities of exciting jewellery design. And I love seeing the confidence original jewellery gives women in their creative and personal lives.

Julia Schofield has been designing and making special occasion jewellery in Cornwall for over twenty-five years. It began in Coverack, with her popular Tombodama studio in a cottage overlooking the sea. She has since had studios in St. Keverne, Mawnan Smith, Falmouth and her beloved Porthleven.
Many designs, particularly necklaces, are one-offs, so if they are sold in the studio workshop, I can rarely repeat them. If you see something here which interests you, please get in touch. I’d love to see you in Porthleven Shipyard Market but if you're far away, you can phone, text, message or email and pay by BACS if you'd like to buy.

The Shipyard Market
Porthleven Harbour Head
I make and sell my jewellery here in the Shipyard Market which was once the old boat-building metalworks, now transformed with craft workshops and day traders.
I don't sell anywhere else and love dealing directly with customers. Here in my studio workshop you can see my latest designs and try them on for size. I can make to measure for you or change French ear wires to posts if you prefer.
Browsers are always welcome!

The Snow Maiden
This piece was created for a Millennium Exhibition at Falmouth Art Gallery. Influenced by an image of the fairytale Snow Maiden by the Russian icon painter, Boris Yvoriken, it is made with rough opals, freshwater pearls, mother of pearl, labradorite and Swarovski Crystals. As in all snowflakes, the number six runs throughout the design.
